Fire Insurance is a general term for insuring buildings and inventory. Goods and corporate losses can also be co-insured on this policy. If you rent an office space and apply changes, you can co-insure the so-called 'tenants interest' for this investment. Machinery and computer equipment can be insured on a separate policy. 

In addition to fire damage, fire insurance provides cover for explosion, lightning strike, theft, water damage, storm, vandalism and collision. If cover is provided on an all-risk basis, you are protected against all external hazards, except for certain exclusions. Some insurers also provide cover for earthquakes and floods.
